Free walks
80 km from El Calafate on Route 11, inside Los Glaciares National Park. You can get there by car, by bus from the terminal or with private transport. The walkways add up to almost 4 km across five circuits, from an accessible one to the one that goes closest to the water, and they leave you facing the walls of ice: when pieces break off, it sounds like thunder. You pay the park entry and, once inside, the walkways cost nothing extra. Everything else is booked separately: boat trips on the lake and walks on the ice, such as Hielo y Aventura's Minitrekking.
Half a day or more, including the trip

Bring a jacket even if it's sunny, because it gets colder near the ice, and stay quiet for a while facing the glacier: that's when you hear it best.
Day pass, prices in effect since June 2026. Before you travel, check them with Parques Nacionales.
